Viva tells the story of Jesus, a young hairdresser who lives in Havana, Cuba, and who works in a nightclub for a transvestite show. He dreams of becoming an artist and, encouraged by his mentor, Mama, Jesus finally receives the opportunity to take the stage. But when his estranged father returns he is forced to quit performing.
